Welcome
Welcome to the Castle Hill Primary School Website. We are a friendly school that serves the children of Todmorden from Nursery age to Year six and has its own wrap around care.
I was fortunate enough to become Headteacher at Castle Hill in January this year. It is a real pleasure to work here. The school has a wonderful ethos which comes from the way our children and staff relate to each other and our parents. It is a pleasure to be Head at such a lovely school.
I will continue to maintain the ethos and approaches embedded by the last Headteacher, Mrs Leggett, and want the school to be the very special place at the heart of our community that she spoke of. We aim to make sure that Staff, parents, governors and children all support each other to ensure that everyone reaches their true potential.
This is the last Heads description –
“The children here are lovely to work with. They are keen to help, eager to learn and exceptionally well behaved. Their inquisitive nature is what makes Castle Hill such a happy and harmonious school. The whole ethos of the school is one of a caring community.”
We will continue to do this and will couple it with high expectations for our children in all subjects. We have a broad and balanced curriculum that includes experiences which will stay with our children for the rest of their lives. We will work with parents to make sure that every child is treated as an individual and fully supported by our team to thrive.
The school is situated in Todmorden, a friendly town on the border of Lancashire and Yorkshire, nestled in the Pennine countryside. Both are real assets for the school and we use them as much as we can in our curriculum, from growing vegetables, walking in the hills or making use of our local community.
We are an open school, so please have a look at the website to get a flavour of what we do. Please come and visit if you are looking for a school place or arrange to see me if you are a parent who wishes to discuss anything regarding your children in school. I will always do my best to see you as soon as possible and help.
